Pride in Place Bootle South is intended to be shaped by the local community.
There will be many opportunities for residents, organisations and local stakeholders to contribute ideas and help shape the future of the area.
You will be able to get involved by:

The first stage of consultation has finished whilst the Neighbourhood Board develop the Pride in Place plan and submit to government. There will be more opportunities to get involved in 2027.
Pride in Place VCF Community Consultation Small Grants
Pride in Place awarded small grants to 15 organisations, totalling £13,600, to carry out community consultation during the initial phase of consultation and engagement. Organisations carried out a variety of activities across a range of demographics. Eligibility criteria was as follows:

Organisations and community groups must be delivering services directly to residents of the Bootle South area.
The following organisations received funding:
Collective Encounters- £955.00
Facilitated four creative workshops in Bootle Library engaging people in creative activities to imagine their Bootle of Tomorrow via poetry.
Community By Nature- £1,000.00
Held a community fun day facilitating a range of practical, activities to consult and engage of local people to help co design and co-own a strategic plan to improve local spaces, culture and pride in the Bootle South area.
Conquer Life- £1,000.00
Captured the views of children (5-11), young people (11-18), parents, carers and families on the future of their neighbourhood through surveys, youth hub consultations, community café engagement, and interactive children's workshops.
Gateway Collective- £521.60
Engaged people accessing their projects and activities in North Park Community Garden with a wide demographic including young people, adults with learning disabilities and community gardeners.
In Another Place- £967.30
Held a thank you celebration event for their volunteers, using this platform to gather feedback and ideas on projects for the Bootle South area.
Independence Initiative- £985.00
The Indy engaged weekly visitors to their community pantry, residents in their supported housing and volunteers to complete the survey. Garden volunteers produced a short video.
Merseyside Expanding Horizons (MEH)- £994.00
Delivered community conversation activities with local people through the Big Onion Hub in Bootle Strand. They also completed a short video talking to members of the community.
Merseyside Youth Association (MYA)- £1,000.00
Held a barbecue festival style event with a singer, bands and food available for young people and used a blend approach of photographs, podcasting, film, big brother diary chair style, questioner's and voice wall.
SAFE Regeneration- £1,000.00
SAFE delivered a youth-focused engagement and consultation event for young people aged 13–25 who have an interest in music, performance, spoken word, DJing, and creative arts.
Scrapyard Studios- £1,000.00
Held four weeks of activity including a walk to capture photographs, sorting photographs, creating poems and culminating in a mural on a wall at SAFE Regeneration followed by a celebration event.
South Sefton Development Trust (Regenerus)- £600.00
Consulted 6 community growing groups who are members of Taking Root.
St Leonards- £620.00
Offered a pop up cafe, talked to members of Menspace and the community pantry.
The Inclusive Hub- £980.00
Supported young people with disabilities, parents, carers and families to complete the survey with a one to one sessional worker. Consultation was delivered through the established Inclusive Hub sessions, the Summer Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, and the Inclusive Hub Community Fundraiser Day.
Venus Centre- £1,000.00
Consultation activities were delivered through existing provision such as Open Access services, International Community Drop-In, Athena House (women’s refuge), Family Support team and housing outreach work.
Y Kids/ Kingsley and Co- £1,000.00
The community and Y Kids children, young people and families were invited to a world cafe event with free refreshments , conversations and activities.
