What is Pride in Place?

Pride in Place is a long-term national programme designed to empower local communities to shape the future of their neighbourhoods.

The programme focuses on areas facing high levels of deprivation and limited social infrastructure, while recognising the strengths, assets and potential already within local communities.

In Bootle South, local residents and organisations will help create a shared vision for the future of the area and decide how investment should support local priorities.

The programme aims to:

Strengthen community pride and belonging

Improve local places and spaces

Support community-led projects and facilities

Empower local people to influence decisions

Create long-term positive change
